In 2008 the college administration came about with the idea of an investment program that would earn income for the college at the same time provide facilities for the entrepreneurial training of students in WVCST. This move is in line with the national government's mandate for state universities and colleges (SUC) to devise income generating projects (IGP) for autonomy and financial stability. Careful planning and deliberations were made between WVCST Administration and the Department of Budget and Management during the planning stage and later approved by the Board of Trustees. The Phase 1, with a physical structure having 3 cubicles at 4.70 meters x 9.15 meters per cubicle, was provided a funding support amounting to P 1.30 million pesos. The WVCST ROTC Unit underwent a Regional Annual Administrative and Tactical Inspection (RAATI) for School Year 2009-2010 at 9 A.M. last February 5, 2010. The event was held on the parade grounds of the campus. Philippine Army Col. Daniel A. de la Cruz, Inf. (GSC) was Chairman. College Officials, Deans, Department Heads, and Campus Administrators gave full support to the ROTC program with their attendance and constant applause to the unit demonstration. Company Commander Halawig took full charge of the unit that paraded in a snappy yet simultaneous military march. Spectators clapped and yelled to the unit's performance that eventually earned it a total score of 92.84 points in this school year’s tactical inspection.   At the start of the second semester of current school year, the college administration has forged a plan for an in-campus connect program with Globe Telecom. The project is designed to reach communications end of college employees and students via cellular phones regarding official announcements for free. The project was finally launched last February 5, 2010 at about 3:30 P.M. in the college’s covered court. Campus-goers registered their Globe cell phone numbers with the telephone company’s agents. Local Globe Telecom Community Relations Head Mr. Jeffrey Tarayao was invited to render a special message but was not able to attend the program. In his behalf, Ms. Tania Padilla, the company’s Regional Sales Head, graced the occasion with college officials, heads and campus administrators. She talked about the project and its objectives.
